What You'll Learn
- Recognize how to communicate fair housing rights, identify resources to support clients facing discrimination, know when to refer to advocacy and legal partners, and promote non-discriminatory practices through housing education, counseling, and service design.
- Gain foundational knowledge of the Fair Housing Act, protected classes, enforcement agencies, and legal frameworks for violations, including redlining, discriminatory lending, and disability compliance, and apply this knowledge to independently review and identify potential fair housing issues in housing scenarios.
- Develop skills to identify the required elements of compliant marketing, examine best practices for organizational compliance, adapt programs and services, and review strategies that support equal housing access while meeting federal, state, and local fair housing requirements.
What to Expect
Learner Expectations
You will have access to the course for 60 days from registration. Throughout the course, there are graded quiz activities that check for understanding of your learning. The course has a final exam that must be passed with an 80% or higher score to receive your certificate of completion and credit for the course.
